I strongly suspect that all or the vast majority of those people are
Windows users. That is, they've never been indoctrinated on the proper
way to do things on the internet.

And no, I rarely use top posting on personal emails either. In fact,
I've had to train people in the practice of interleaving, because their
top posting made it so difficult to figure out what they were talking
about.
