No, Reiserfs is definitely stable code. However, it is recommended
using it where it is best needed as in / and /home. /boot should be
kept in the ext2fs as the code is more mature and journalling is not
necessary in that directory. /boot is only mounted at boot-up or when
loading kernel modules. I have found this particular combination on
SuSE 7.1 to be very stable.
Look for version 4 of reiserfs to have compression and encryption
capabilities as well thanks to a DARPA grant Hans received not long ago
to do the coding.
