Most USR modems that do not have Jumpers are Winmodems. Again 90% of them.
If it has jumpers it is a standard modem and should work with the standard
AT commands.
There is a site though for getting winmodems to work under Linux however
that is mostly for the
Lucent Chips set modems. Any ways most winmodems will give you a device is
busy when trying to access them.
Now I was shocked with Stormix cause it had the Lucent drivers in it when I
installed it on Diana's Laptop.
It fired up the Lucent Venus PCMCIA modem and works fine!!!!
Go to google and do a search you will find it.
