Um ... I see that gcc 2.96-0.61 (meaning I already have gcc
2.95-something) is offered as an upgrade for my system running a
storeboughten 2.4.3 kernel. I am NOT a rocket scientist and am
also usually wrong about Linux ... but, FWIW, does your kernel
and your gcc play well together?
