I was told to disconnect the computer on my workbench today from the
network. It was the only Linux computer in the building. Corporate is
clamping down on security and it doesn't fit in the proper category
(Winblows). Of course, I did as I was told. Its their computer and their
network.
It seems that a few days ago one of the reporters in the news dept. decided
to connect their palm pilot to their computer and introduced a virus. Of
course, the usual memos went up after this-as they should. Now today,
another reporter decided to check their home email (which is forbidden).
Apparently this 'newsperson' had not heard of the 'I Love You'
virus...........

WFTS-TV's network is now much more secure now that Linux box on my workbench
is gone.
