I started with Linux in 1998 looking for a free (as in beer) COBOL compiler
(because even the individual licenses were $500), and I heard I could get one
to run with Linux (not the Mac OS), which also was free (again, as in beer).
Then I found out about the other free (as in freedom), and I was hooked.
Never did find that COBOL compiler, though.
