Actually, you can get a 1 disk version of their distro
(7.2) from their FTP site (please correct me if I'm
wrong). The have a habit of releasing the distro for
purchase only and then after a few weeks releasing a
completely GPL'd 1 disk version (not the LiveEval, but
the hard drive version).
Derek, if I was you I would see if I could grab a copy
of the GPL'd version (their ftp site is slow, so
you've been warned). If not, then spring for the $30
version (available online from SuSE.com or
LinuxCentral.com or any other fine linux vendor) or
from your maybe-local Borders bookstore. This WILL
upgrade the Proffessional version 7.1 to 7.2, leaving
- of course - that software that is NOT included in
7.2 personal alone - it wont uninstall anything it
doesn't recognize. You can get/update the rest of the
software (JDK, Samba server, LDAP server, blah blah
blah) from their FTP site. Of course, if you want the
VERY EXCELLENT documentation (save for the casual
misspelled and/or germanized word), then grab yourself
the Upgrade version fromt their website ($69.00).
Frankly, I pay for that version JUST BECAUSE OF THE
DOCUMENTATION. Good documentation means ALOT to me
(this is one of my HUGE qualms with Mandrake, as good
as it can be). In that department, no one beats SuSE
(except maybe Red Hat's 3rd party documentation -
which, doesn't really count ;)
