apologies up front. I'm not yelling, just trying to distinguish my
responses.

I still do not see the Linux box in the Win Network.
This is what I have so far in the Win box.
I have not checked the current status of the Linux box since I had it at the
Dunedin meeting. I will do that next but it may take some time so I am
forwarding the Win settings to you at this time for your inspections.

Thanks
Frank

OK

If Windows family logon is show

Was showing and was deleted.

You should also see a network card driver object and a
> tcp/ip object assigned to the network card.
2 Network Car in box
2 network cards showing
2 Tcp/IP showing
TCP/IP Properties for Network
DNS - > Disabled
Gateway -> <Blank>
WINS Configuration -> Enable Wins Server Search Order -> 192.168.1.1
Specify IP address -. 192.168.1.2 with Mask 255.255.255.0
Binding -> Client for MS Network & File and Printer Sharing

WINS IS NOT NEEDED, UNLESS YOU HAVE A WINS SERVER. THIS WILL JUST SLOW DOWN
RESOLUTION.

-----------------
Also showing
Dial up adapter
2 NetBeui for 2 network cards
1 NetBeui for Dial Up Adapter
File and Print sharing for Microsoft Network

NETBEUI IS ALSO NOT NEEDED. IT IS IN FACT A VERY CHATTY PROTOCOL THAT WILL
DO A CONSTANT BROWSER ANNOUNCEMENT FOR WINDOWS BOXES ONLY. THE MORE CHATTER
ON YOUR NETWORK THE WORSE THE PERFORMANCE. IF YOU ONLY HAVE ONE WINDOWS BOX
ON THE NETWORK, DELETE ALL PROTOCOLS BUT TCP/IP. YOU NEED TCP/IP FOR UNIX
AND INTERNET COMMUNICATIONS. NETBEUI IS UNROUTABLE AND NOT UNDERSTOOD BY
UNIX BOXES.

Verified -> Already had that

It does.

They should be the same but I am not certain what is in the Linux box now.
Will check.
