What I did was connect to irc.linux.com (clicked the Connections button
on menu bar then selected "new server" and entered irc.linux.com) , and
when connected I went back to the connections button on the menu bar and
selected "Join Channel". There I entered "#sunlug". It works.

I got the same message connecting to irc.openprojects.org. Don't think
that's right.
