rpm -e magocdev
rpm -e authfs
... then reboot, and retry the CD burn. It looks as though
the 'magic mount of CD's' is preventing writing CD's ..

Quick summary: Magicdev, and non-compliant IDE CD's -- both
burners, and plain old players -- just do not get along.
