Re: [SLUG] Linux VM problems (and I'm so cool)

I've always had problems with my redhat 7.1 pc locking up all the time and never understood why. It would lock right when the swap file was geting hit real heavy. I read this article last night and started upgrading everything to the latest kernel so hopefully this will clear it up. Does RedHat 7.2 use the -ac kernel or is it the genuine linus kernel tree?

I've been harping on the 2.4 kernel's VM problems for some time now.
(Even to the extent of bending Maddog's ear at Chilis after the last CTS
Expo about some of the problems I'd been having.)

Slashdot pointed to a nice article on Byte magazine outlining some of
the problems:

Of course even better are the names in the commentary in the source code
about halfway down the page used to bring a Linux 2.4 box dragging to a
halt... :)
