GNUCash is really the best way to go...Its almost exactly like MS Money for 
those who began with a MS background. It does all the same stuff, its a 
checkbook register, asset tracker, intangibles....Its a full personal/small 
business financial application.
Unless you are a source code junkie like me, get binary packages...solving 
the dependencies is a real ... pain in the ahem ... I had to patch the heck 
out of some of the dependecies too.
