This is probably too late to save you from putting out a whole lot
of effort ... but here's a little tid-bit I just ran across in the
rpm for Webmin:
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS VERSION NOW USES SECURE WEB TRANSACTIONS: YOU
HAVE TO
LOGIN TO "https://localhost:10000/" AND NOT "http://localhost:10000/".
Note ... https(ecure)://localhost:10000/
The "s" is the critical detail we have been missing ... and no one
else on the list seemed to know about either! :-)
I was getting ready to follow Patricks advice myself when I noticed
that becuase MY copy of Webmin was acting like yours.
