RESOLVED
My thanks to everyone! I am now truckin' with the ISOs as we speak.
I was able to view the host directory wth:
rsync -rvn mirror.csit.fsu.edu::debian-cd/
and I'm pulling the entire Debian ISO directory with:
rsync -av mirror.csit.fsu.edu::debian-cd/ /my/local/directory/debian-cd
I understand how the options work now by referring to the man pages.
I was confused by the way the Debian rsync mirrors page has it noted
and how the man page specifies it. Now I'm clear on how it works,
and I can see how it can help elsewhere on a network.
