Your ftp client may be restricted to active ftp connections(requiring to ip
ports 20 and 21.) Although your server may be switching to passive mode
(using port 21 only), the client may be in active mode. Such is the case
with the windows command prompt ftp client (under NT and 2000, and
presumably XP.) The windows command shell ONLY supports active mode, though
I think there is a regedit hack work-around. Check your router setting and
verify that both ports required for active ftp are forwarded to the ftp
server.
