I am puzzled. Printer test pages don't print and don't even appear to
make it to the queue. There are no error messages on screen. lpd gets
restarted and a messages states that the page has been sent yet it
doesn't appear in the queue on the printer or linux gui. A Xerox Unix
Specialist walked me through the use of the printconf-gui to generate
the printer configuration files for the subject Xerox postscript
printer. He reviewed the printcap entry and said that it was fine. It
doesn't appear to be a hosts issue. We are using the ip number of the
printer and it's pingable. I've been able to print to a different
printer (hp laserjet 4v) but only from selected apps. The xerox printer
prints via tcp/ip printing from NT.
/var/log/messages has the following line: modprobe: cant locate module
char-major-81. No other messages seem relevant other that successful
stop/start of lpd
Everything seems fine but nothing happens.

Thanks Much
