SHORT:
RH7.1 with the latest stable kernel from up2date. I used xf86config
to update my X configuration. Now, it doesn't work at all.
LONG:
I upgraded my video card. I saved /etc/X11/XF86Config to
XF86Config.s630. I ran xf86config and selected my new ATI Rage 128
card (type 67). I properly selected my horizontal and vertical
refresh rates for my monitor. I let it save the file to
/etc/X11/XF86Config.
I fired-up startx at the prompt. It bombs at:
SubSection "extmod"
Module section keyword expected
I read the manual on XF86Config. The syntax is fine as it should be,
considering it was created from the xf86config program.
Why did this happen? What can I do to fix it. Even now, that I
replaced the new file with the old XF86Config.s630 (renamed, of
course), it doesn't work.
This will drive a man crazy! Please help.
