I just finished a dual boot with W2000 and GRUB puts the entry in there
automatically. I don't remember if LILO will do it automatically or
not, but I think not.

Install XP first, leave room fro your linux paritions. then install
linux.. it will put an entry in LILO for you so you can actually boot
windows

never played with XP but since windows is so finicky i usually put that
on
first, and then let linux adapt it's more flexible as to where it can be
installed
