"hoped I could cast the Microsoft yoke aside at home no such luck thus far."
Why not? I have been 100% Micro$oft free since July of 1997.
It hasn't been easy, I don't have any chums* that use LINUX, and I can't
afford many $31 books. * except on two LINUX mailing lists
Tell us what LINUX doesn't do for you, perhaps we can help. (I'll watch,
I am just a user!)
There are obviously several things that M$ products do that LINUX doesn't,
including support cheap hardware, (can you spell crappy) and programs of
more commercial interests than small office and personal use.
