Ok, here we go:

I have SuSE 8.1 pro on a thinkpad 390e - everything
was working wonderful until a brown out. My battery is
very dead (no charge what so ever) so when the power
dropped so did the laptop. When I went to reboot fsck
failed at 25% with the msg:

hda: irq timeout: status=0xd0 { busy }
ide0: reset: success

and dropped me in a recovery console so that I could
run it manually. When I run it manually I get the same
msg quite a few times - Im still fsck'ing now =-/

My home is on a different, encrypted partiton so if
worse comes to worse can I use Knoppix to boot then
mount my old home to save data?

Matt (on mom's box lol)
