Hello all...
I've got too much puzzlement, and I'm on overload. First, I'm trying to build
a 2.5.75 kernel, but I'm told in an error message that I need binutils 2.12.1
or newer, but I've got binutils 2.12.90.0.1. That's newer, right? I'm running
a debian woody system, by the way.
So. I go online to irc w/ the friendly debian folk, and irc.debian.org doesn't
want to work. I know it's not my firewall or anything like that, as I am able
to connect to some obscure chat server somewhere on the net
(ar.chatjunkies.org). I worried for a while that verizon has decided to kill
port 6667, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
The funny thing is, though, that there's a ton of irc servers that seem to be
offline. I get lots of "unknown host" errors when I try to do a simple
ping...
To top it all off, I try one of the openprojects.net servers, and I go to
www.openprojects.net, and the domain is for sale! How do you like that! That
was too much.
Is the sky falling, and I don't know it? Anybody got a read on the internet
tonight? Is there a major internet storm somewhere? Especially as related to
irc? I'm going crazy!
Russell
