These guys have all given you great answers. They've also given you
only distros that do not distribute their production versions without a
membership fee or license fee.
The best new freely-available desktop distro I've come across lately is
Mepis, and the new version out next month is in beta test now. I'm
running it and it's very strong. Since it's a child of debian, you can
automatically install any debian package from the internet for free
using Kpackage. Everything won't be done for you, and it won't _look_
like windows (*roll*), but Warren has designed it to be very useful, and
very linux.
