I came up with the idea of when subscribing, that the mail server collects
some information about the mailserver the subscriber is using. Like IP or
serve name.
When an email comes in with mismatched info it can fwd it to the user with a
note why it was bounced. If he did send it he can then do some kind of
verification authentication. If not he just ignores it.
This will take care of false From addresses as it will not match the proper
ISP.
The change is not a whole lot more than collecting an addition field or two.
Then do the comparison and act on the outcome. A script could do the whole
thing without need to modify your mailing program.
Actually procmail should be able to do most of it.
