I have been running a TP A30 and a TP A21e with Linux (Suse 8.0 through
9.0 on the latter and Suse 9.1, FC 1 and 2, Gentoo, Onebase, and Knoppix
on the former) without problems (except FC2 didn't support my Linksys
WPC11v3 wireless card out of the box and the 2.6 kernel was somewhat
buggy at times)
I'd recommend an IBM TP anytime. One thing that still gets me though is
that IBM has spent (according to their Linux dedicated website) over 1
billion US dollars on Linux and yet none of their laptops (or desktops
as far as I know) are officially Linux supported.
Nonetheless, I have not had any hardware issues with Linux on my TPs
(Suspend, Resume, etc worked just fine).
