Ditto.

The same is true of XP Professional, alas. I'm not sure about the license
renewal limit, but you're required to register the machine to get it run as
other than an "evaluation" installation. I am, understandably I think, less
than pleased with this licensing scheme. It's an impressive scam, in short.

Meheheheheh. I love that. I'll probably be calling them "Fisher Price widgets"
from now on.
There's a possibility that I may be doing network architecture and
implementation for a multinational in the near future (mah finguz iz crossed),
setting up LANs in several locations both Stateside and overseas, and linking
them together in one of those creepy world-spanning corporate WANs that always
make start thinking of SkyNet. If this all comes together, I've got the
go-ahead to make the workstations 'nix-based, with basically one Windows
workstation per location to run the occasional necessary Windows-only
application. That's the upside. The downside is that it looks like the Windows
workstations will have to be XP to keep the clients happy. C'est la vie. Ya
can't win 'em all.
