A. you cant have something your not paying for. if you dont have dsl
then a router will not do anything... for getting you dsl...

B. Mandrake does have dsl configuation screen but itis not what you
think it is ment for internal dsl modems they are not big here but in
europe supposley alot of dsl providers use internal pci dsl modems.

Here is how itshould worked assuming you go call verizon and get dsl....

DSL modem--- Connects to a Router/Wifi Access point ( which is going
to cost you more than 35 dollars ) ---- cat 5 network cable to any
dekstop machines Laptop or other wireless enabled machine via a
wireless card and connect to router/access point via wifi.
