If you catch another one of the MarketPro computer shows at
the Fairgrounds on Rte 301, there are usually people there
who are dealers, and they have OEM copies of XP Pro in the
$135 range. You get a valid MS holographically-signed CD and
a small book containing the license sticker with the key number
on it, all in shrink-wrap. You should be able to find one with
SP1 included with the base install. (I did NOT say SP2).
These are full-install, NOT upgrades. You have to buy a piece
of hardware along with it, since it is OEM "comes with a computer"
but this should be financially trivial for you. You get some time to try
it
before having to activate it..
I would not choose to use XP Home if I had the Pro option.
Probably cheaper than an Apple, but less fun. HTH
