Anybody have an idea as to how a RedHat 9.0 system w/kernel 2.4.20-18.8 could
lose/reset permissions on a device, specifically /dev/dsp? Maybe devfs??

I changed the permissions a while back, and then they were reset. A reboot
did not take place.

Initial:
crw------- 1 root root 14, 3 Jan 30 2003 /dev/dsp

After:
crw-rw---- 1 root users 14, 3 Jan 30 2003 /dev/dsp

Later (huh??):
crw------- 1 root root 14, 3 Jan 30 2003 /dev/dsp

For now, I changed them to the following, but I don't think it'll help for
long:
crw------- 1 otheruser root 14, 3 Jan 30 2003 /dev/dsp
