Since you have had the filesystem setup as vfat, fsck.ext2 wil not
work. FYI it wont do anything harmful if you don't have the filesystem
mounted. I REALLY hate to say this though, have you tried sticking a
hard drive with windows on it into the computer, and seeing if windows
scandisk can work some magic?
