I know that this is late but have you tried using something like apt-get. I was talking to a
friend and he said that it works or every linux os is some version or another. I am using SUSE
and I tried apt4suse. It didn't work because I filled my hard drive, but I have now cleaned the
pc and now ready to try again. Just try apt-get and see.
