In the case that you're working on use the 'foreach' statement to go
through each element in the list. Are you trying to match complete
lines? If so just use a 'eq' statement to compare the two strings
instead using regular expressions.
An example:
foreach $part(@Criticalpartlist)
{
if ($part eq $criticalpart) or if($part =~ m/$criticalpart/)
{
}
else
{
}
