This is also huge for the open source community at large. Anyone that contributes to openSUSE whose project is accepted into SUSE Linux Enterprise is automatically covered under the patent bridge agreement that was signed. That means that all the proprietary media formats that have been at risk are now fully covered in SLED10.
BTW..if it wasn't covered well - and I haven't seen adequate coverage yet, the deal is in 4 key areas, virtualization, web services management, interoperability, and patent protection.
