Yep. Very useful when fglrx or nv decides to break!

also, when I tell X to die, it *dies*. I've always been annoyed at *dm
restarting X sessions I kill with control-alt-backspace.

Well, the download could take longer than the laptop is going to be
presnet or on (e.g. if it takes 24 hours, I'm not leaving my laptop in
the living room that long, as I might take it to work or something.)

soon, I'll be doing this from my new nintendo DS, which will make a much
better remote download control / video control than the laptop. XD
