I have the same problem with 10.1. At some point it will decide that it is
not going to talk to the printer anymore unless I am root, and then it will
do so. If you look at the printers under the printer dropdown in Kjobviewer
you will probably see your printer is barred out. I either go to root and do
the print or re-install the thing and press on.
