[SLUG] Dumping Flash

Hi Everybody!

I have an old (P II 400) notebook with Gentoo on it. I find that if I even
accidentally mouse over a flash anything it locks up the machine trying to
run it. Locks it hard enough that I have to shut down, unplug for 15 seconds
and then reboot. After that I half the time have to reestablish the dsl
connection and that is a real bear.

I have tried on a number of Linux machines to "upgrade to the latest flash"
and that always hoses the system. Have to send it to a tech for a couple of
weeks after that.

What would happen if I just plain got rid of flash and all remnants thereof?
It never does anything but lock up the machine anyway and who needs that?

Anyone know how to dump flash? Who the hell does macromedia think they are,
anyway, Micro$oft?
