The number of partitions a PC can have is not dicatated by the HDD. A PC can have up to 4 primary partitions or 3 primary partitions with 1 extended partition. The extended partition can then be divided into as many logical partitions as you have disk space. Whether or not a PC is able to boot to any partition on the HDD is dependant upon the BIOS, not the HDD.
