[SLUG] Combining 2 ISP's w/o BGP?

Well, I think ipchains was loaded... in rc3.d, there was a
file called S08ipchains... I renamed it to s08ipchains. I
did the same in rc2 rc4 and rc5.d and rebooted. So, I think
it is no longer loading. I tried

modprobe ipchains

and it can not find module. (am I using modprobe correctly?)

But, I still get the same error:

[root@ns1 /root]# ip link list
Cannot open netlink socket: Address family not supported by
protocol
