Apparently, we have a herpetologist in our midst. Can't say the
metaphor was perfect, but picking a species probably wouldn't make it
much better. Wouldn't mind seeing an eastern diamondback in the wild
but that's becoming less and less likely. There a dying breed which
makes the metaphor even less apropos.
