AKLUG. I
realize list have certain guidelines and decorum to maintain order and
ensure the
purpose of the group. With this I agree.
I do not advocate or endorse any of the subjects I have seen posted on this
list
for the past two days with the exception of perhaps that this is a time for
prayer.
In times like this, emotions will run wild. I was five years old when the
attack
on Pearl Harbor took place and I remember the outrage that was expressed
toward
the Japanese people for the actions of their Naval Forces.
Yes, these opinions should have been on a different list (political) but for
the
past two days I have seen very little to do with Linux and more to do with
the
events in New York and Washington, DC.
I am disturbed that people are being threatened with expulsion from the list
for
expressing raw emotion in a time of crisis. I thought America was about
freedom
of speech weather or not we agree with the speaker. You don't have to like
what
the guy said, but he/she has a right to say it. You also have the right to
disagree without being unpleasant about it. That is the essence of a free
society. Nuff said!
