Doh! Like I said, I'm new here, and judging by your activity I ASSumed you
lived in the area. Silly me. :)
I wouldn't be too jealous of the deal here. The basic (and I do mean
_basic_) business class account starts around $80. It's pretty much the
same as the home game, except you get to pay more because you're a business.
Nice, huh? I'm not sure what the exact pricing for the static IP option is
(no dollar amounts listed on the website), but even with that you aren't
"allowed" to run a web server. A friend of mine priced a connection with
them, and for a couple static IP numbers and http allowed it came to over
400 bucks. Too bad it doesn't go any faster than the el cheapo model... :P

They probably do ... but I live in Detroit. Comcast@home provides the
ONLY broadband service to my neighborhood. Ameritech COULD bring DSL
but have dragged their feet for at least 3 years now. They did offer
me idsl for $129 / month. No server, of course. But who would want to
run a server on idsl if there was an alternative?
In a way, I wish I had your deal. Comcast doesn't offer commercial
cable modem service. Their comcast@work arrangement is for a T1 or
better line and starts at too much money and goes way up. I would
willingly pay $80 a month for my current connectivity AND the right
to run a simple http server. It just isn't available.
