Maybe I don't understand your post, but post routers/firewalls have a web
interface for configuration (some telnet, some serial port). My lynksys has
many features, such as blocking, forwarding filtering, logging, even a hook
to PC-Cillian antivirus (though I've never used it.) Buy a $400 netscreen
then you have IP mapping bandwidth management, etc.
