I've got a bunch of headless 486 machines where the BIOS doesn't have an
option to run without a keyboard. I finally constructed a bunch of pigtail
fake keyboards.
I rescued some old, beatup but functional keyboards from the trash and
striped them down. I tossed the keys and case, then cut the cable down to
about 12" and wrapped the circuit board in electrical tape. Works great!
And if you ever need a real keyboard, just plug one in.
