Someone else may have mentioned this but have you tried putting it into
a frig for a few hours? It sounds crazy but it can help temporarily
revive drives with certain physical problems (don't know if it would
work in this case but cold makes metal contract so it might)... make
sure the drive is very dry though. Florida humidity can have bad
effects.
