I am by no means a linux guru, as a matter of fact I am
among the unwashed that have a basic working knowledge
of linux--- just enough to be dangerous and break
things.
That being said, today I installed codeweavers
office, got my wifes office 2000 cds and now have a
functional-working m$ office 2000 including outlook
and explorer. I am going to delete it because I have
no use for it at all but, I make mention of the
install,for any others out here that are kind of leery
about not dual booting because they "need" m$ office
etc. The fact is that with codeweavers you can run
office apps in linux and have no need to load windows.
Now that I have installed it and can vouch that it
works I am sure that anyone else can install and use
it, so for those of you that "need" m$ office etc
don't put linux on the back little partition. You can
easily run all the office apps and now not really
worry .
Thats about it just wanted to make mention of the
fact that it does work and anyone can install it and
use it---worth the money if you have to run window
apps and don't want to use an emulator(vmware etc)
