Since I run Zope (and some day I'll do a presentation, I promise!), and Zope
keeps a file called "Data.fs" on /var, my 500 MB partition isn't big enough.
Also, that's where debian keeps individual *.deb files cached. Eventually,
I'll move the Data.fs file to a larger partition and make a link to it so
that size won't be a problem, but at the moment, it's 252 MB big!
To answer the question, though, if you're not doing this, that 500 MB ought
to be enough. I'd have space if I wasn't doing zope stuff...
