You did not state whether you were looking for a
free (as in beer) or a commercial product. I have
currently been evaluating a product for my company
that has shown some great results so far. The
company is based in Italy I believe and the product
is called NXServer. Go to www.nomachine.com and you
can read up on it. It is extremely simplistic to
setup on both the client and the server. I
basically does a remote X session but compresses the
protocol so that you can run a full desktop on a
rather slow connections (they boast accross a 9600
baud connection but I wouldn't bank on that). You
can get an eval as well as personal license. There
is also a Small Business one with 5 connections or
you can get the unlimited for $400 total I believe.
It is a very impressive product for me so far and I
use it for my home PC all the time. OH, it tunnels
across SSH so its a secured (as secured as can be)
connection. Let me know if you have any questions
and I will attempt to answer. VNC is also another
good option and is free (as in beer).
