Actually, whether or not it is heated is the clincher. Natural sugars,
honey, sugar cane, sugar beets, maple sap, etc. contain an enzyme that aids
their digestibility. Cooking or heat processing destroys this enzyme. After
it is cooked/heated, your body has to digest it without the enzyme.
