I had a Linux 2.0.x router (used ipchains), and I had a situation
something like this:
24.x.x.x 192.168.0.1
+----|-----------|----+
| eth1 eth0 |
| outside inside |
+---------------------+
>From inside, I could not connect to any port on the external interface.
Then, I replaced it with a USR8054, and I could. So the logic within the
router determines whether you can.
Is that what you're seeing?

Yep, exactly, which means that the issue is with the TA (VoIP Gateway), because
it worked fine with just the router.
For now I just put entries in the hosts file for the PCs internally, which seems
to be working.
