What's more interesting what Microsoft has done. Sadly, most of the
guys at our office expect their XP Pro boxes to lock up several times a
day and just consider it a way of life and as the norm.
Professional...?? whatever. It stands for Xtreme Problems in my
opinion. My expectations have gone up since again, SuSE 9 runs great on
this laptop and my Desktop at the office.

This is my experience too. I got my wife the X3i so she can use the
wireless at the house. With Pocket Windows 2003, it acts like a common
desktop.....good old lockups. Somebody started a project to flash it
with a small custom linux distro but I think after getting it to work
only partially...found some un-fixable issue that had no workaround and
abandoned the idea. too bad.

I still lean towards blaming the gates team and the mule himself. Why
else then does my linux O.S. work fine with the hardware?? I know it
seems hard to believe, but with internet, mail, wireless and occasional
games as daily activities....my machine really NEVER locks up.

somebody asked about the cooling vents.....mine are inflows on the
bottom and side, and outflow on the back.
