I created a PDF print driver in Windows using a generic postscript
driver, Ghostscript and another OS program called RedMon that allows
one to create a "redirected" port on your Windows machine that directs
its output to a program of your choosing. It lets me create a PDF
file of any printed output. And it's free. I've been using this
method for years.
The only issue with this method is that if you try to create the PDF
file in an encrypted file system, the resulting PDF will be
unreadable.
